    Wilco de Ruiter
    Salesdirector

This is Wilco de Ruiter's favorite floor

Wilco de Ruiter has now been part of the TFD family for one year.

He is not exactly a newcomer to the world of floors. After completing his studies 25 years ago, he walked into an employment agency to look for a job; preferably one that came with a car, so he could visit the love of his life in the south of the country. He was appointed as sales representative for vinyl floors and kicked off his career in the floor business.

Wilco initially spent a long time focusing on the retail market for Enia Carpets, and then switched to the project market at Tarkett.

In the end, Wilco found his home at TFD Floortile.

He really enjoys the family feeling at TFD: “You can be who you are here. I feel at home between a group of fantastic colleagues who appreciate and respect one another, and try to do the best for one another, the company and our customers on a daily basis. The atmosphere really suits my personality.”

Wilco enjoys motivating people, helping them to develop and do their job with a sense of enjoyment and passion. He compares it to his passion for animals, particularly horses:

“I used to be involved in equestrian sport, and now my daughters have followed in my footsteps: I can see them growing in confidence thanks to their interaction with the horses, and they understand that it is very rewarding to do something with passion and confidence.”

From a work perspective, Wilco thinks it is important for people to support one another and to encourage each other to be successful. And that is exactly what he has found at TFD.

Even though he is part of the TFD family, there is still a lot that people do not know about him: “I don’t think they know that I was heavily involved in sport, as a competitive sailor and cyclist.”

Thanks to many years of experience, Wilco has walked on many floors, but what is actually his favourite floor in the TFD collection? “It’s got to be the Easy; a floor that smoothly brings together various aspects of an interior because of its uncomplicated design.”
